People have worshipped in Sanderstead Parish for over 800 years. As you can imagine, the history of such a place is full of interesting stories and myths. For the first time, we are collecting these and bringing them all together in one place. To paint the picture, Sanderstead or Sanderstede as it used to be was a small village with a Manor and Church. Surrounded by Farms and woodland, the main road alongside the village pond took travelers towards Croydon and London from the South Coast and Kent.

We have broken the articles down into four headings which are below or within the navigation bar. Over the coming months, we will be adding more articles to this section.
