CMS - Church Missionary Society
CMS is a voluntary association of people rooted in the Anglican Communion who are united in obedience to Christ's command to fulfil his Great Commission. They strive to share the love of God with people of all races and to gather them into the fellowship of Christ's Church.
That means that all members of CMS try to participate actively in Christian mission wherever they are, in their home country or overseas. Founded in 1799, CMS has attracted upwards of nine thousand men and women to serve as mission partners during its 200-year history.
Today there are about 150 mission partners in 26 countries in Africa, Asia, Europe and the Middle East. A budget of £5.75 million a year is needed to maintain and expand this work.
David and Sarah Hall in Bangladesh
David and Sarah hall are working as ecumenical misson partners in Bangladesh, the country where they first met in 1997 when they were both working there. Sarah is a teacher and David is a chartered civil engineer, with a particular interest in working with poor communities to improve water and sanitation services.
More information will be added here on their progress when we recieve an update from them.

USPG
USPG enables people to grow spiritually, to thrive physically and to have a voice in an unjust world. As an Anglican mission agency, we do this alongside churches and communities around the world, providing the resources - people, money and ideas - that they define as necessary to meet local needs.
Our work involves pastoral care, social action and supporting training programmes.
In many countries, we have worked with the Anglican church and set up projects to support the impoverished and marginalised. This work has included:
Health care, through funding hospitals, HIV/AIDS awareness programmes and training for medical personnel.
Education, through funding new schools and sending teachers to wherever there is a need.
Church ministry: through funding theological training and pastoral programmes.
Cross-cultural training – because we believe that each part of the church can learn from every other part.
Inter-faith relations, including work in many of the worldâ€s trouble spots.
We also encourage parishes in Britain and Ireland to participate in mission through fundraising and prayer, and by setting up links with our projects around the world.
Johannes and Janina Zang in Jerusalem
Johannes and Janina Zang, our mission partners are based in Jerusalem on the compound of St Georgeâ€s Cathedral-close to where East and West Jerusalem meet. Johannes teaches music while Janina works with children and youth through her art and peace projects.
Please support Johannes and Janina as they work with Palestinian Christians through music, art and peace projects. These Christians have chosen to stay in Jerusalem despite the ongoing conflict and their work is so vital.
As we recieve updates from Johannes and Janina, we will publish them here.

SAMS
 WHO ARE WE?
- A mission agency that, as our name suggests, has long worked in close partnership with the Anglican Church of the Southern Cone of Latin America, and some dioceses of the Episcopal Church of Brazil.
- In the 1980s two historic European churches with strong links with South America, the tiny but growing Spanish Reformed Episcopal Church and the Lusitanian Church of Portugal, also asked us work alongside them.
- We seek to help the Churches of England and Wales and the Scottish Episcopal Church to become linked with the Churches of South America, Brazil, Spain and Portugal.
- Our role is changing from that of a traditional sending agency to becoming part of multiway international mission.
- We work together with the members of the Partnership for World Mission and other agencies involved in Latin America.
- We are a voluntary agency and depend almost entirely from live giving, some 60% coming from our Link parishes and the balance from individuals.
Chris and Alison Hawksbee
Our mission partners for SAMS. Chris Hawksbee is a true paraguay. The son of missionary parents, he was born and raised amongst the tribal peoples of the remote and inhospitable Chaco region
He and Alison have served God in that area for a number of years, as well as doing substantial work across the border in Northern Argentina. Chris’s skills in agriculture and development, harnessed to his strong support for the local churches, have brought great benefit to the Indian communities of both countries.
After work on an EU project in the Paraguayan Chaco, Chris and Alison’s next stage in ministry has come at the invitation of the Diocese of Paraguau, in particular its young Indian pastors. Chris now seeks to help Indian churches take a stand in offering true hope to their communities and influence decisions which affect their futures. Helping them draw up their own projects, offering technical support, notably in commercialisation of their honey and agricultural produce, seeking fair prices and giving Christian encouragement are ministries tailor-made for a man of Chris’s experience.
It costs £20,225 to support the Hawksbees in their vital ministry. In addition there are GB ministry and administration costs of £12,000. If you would like to play your part in helping them, please contact us for a leaflet.
Please pray for:
Chris’s full ministry to the Indian peoples, helping them grow in community confidence and organisation for self help
The churches to experience life in abundance
The family during periods of separation.
